Located north of Xizhimenwai Dajie, Beijing Zoo is the largest zoo in China with the longest history. The houses and enclosures, with a total floor space of 80,000 sqm, including those for pandas, antelopes, elephants, bears, rhinoceros, orangutans, birds and reptiles.

Almost 7,000 precious animals and birds of over 900 species are on show. Among them are giant pandas, golden monkeys, white-lipped deer, tigers from Northeast China and red-crowned cranes.

Hence, it is a good place for popular science education and scientific experiments.
