China National Museum

On the eastern side of Tian'anmen square, China National Museum is established on the basis of Museum of the Chinese History and Museum of the Chinese Revolution. Founded on Feb 28,2003, it has been expanding and renovating now.
Museum of the Chinese History grew out of Beijing Museum of History founded in Jul 1912. It has renamed Museum of the Chinese History in 1959. The exhibits in the museum illustrate the Chinese history from Yuanmou man of 1.7mil years ago to 1912 when the last emperor of the Qing Dynasty abdicated. Over 9,000 pieces of precious relics from various historical periods display China's long history and splendid culture.
